**WARNING**: This faith has not yet had a chance to become canonical. **//Ne͡imakanaas̈//** is a :kavkem kavkem:mythology best referred to as //The Corrupt Mirage//, even though its literal translation would be //a feeling of claustrophoba// or //the illusion of being unable to breathe// (from the kavkem word //ne͡imakanaas̈//). As a faith, it is fairly far removed from //kavkem:mythology:Taaravahr//, viewing the baseline faith as mostly allegorical. It can be encountered in planet:nekenalos:Vatenas as well as the 'west' and 'north' of planet:nekenalos:Asheenagiji, and strongly tends toward dominance in its entire territorial stretch. ===== Cosmology ===== Despite its very grim literal name, //Ne͡imakanaas̈// is one of the most optimistic kavkem cosmologies. In //Ne͡imakanaas̈//, the suffering in the world is predominantly illusionary and can be transcended with sufficient knowledge. ===== Metaphysical entities ===== Much as in //Nitish Ynas//, deities in //Ne͡imakanaas̈// are mostly metaphorical or allegorical. ==== Ateheril ==== //Main article: :kavkem:mythology:Ateheril// The deity **Ateheril** decides the appearance of the Mirage, although he himself is invisible and unapproachable, and the knowledge of his existence is used primarily to explain the state of the world rather than to integrate the deity in any kind of actionable daily life. That said, some adherents of //Ne͡imakanaas̈// believe he may be indirectly bargained with by making matters more narratively pleasing for him. Since this bargaining would not break one out of the Mirage but simply shape the Mirage to a different configuration, this is rarely pursued but for the most dire but predictable situations. ==== Tamas̈elu ==== //Main article: :kavkem:mythology:Tamas̈elu// Although the traditional //Taaravahr// pantheon is considered largely allegorical, one notable exception comes in the form of **Tamas̈elu** (no doubt because she has been physically seen by many members of //Ne͡imakanaas̈// and thus become a little difficult to ignore). However, her purpose differs strongly from the //Taaravahr// baseline faith - to the adherents of //Ne͡imakanaas̈//, she is a deity of memories. Likely as a product of her immense age and experience, Tamas̈elu is considered to know the truth about the world and be able to share it. Verbal communication alone is not assumed to be sufficient to share the knowledge. Mystical components vary from the mundane variant requiring a sort of bodily union (be it sexual or non-sexual) to the purely metaphysical, wherein Tamas̈elu's soul pays you a visit and rearranges your mind. It's assumed this process would be entirely terrifying if it were to happen, but a 'necessary evil' to transition away from ignorance. ==== Other ==== Other deities are considered entirely metaphorical in //Ne͡imakanaas̈//. Given the power of metaphors in the cosmology, this doesn’t necessarily make them harmless, though. In theory, practitioners of //Ne͡imakanaas̈// would change their mind if they met a deity from the pantheon. In practise, they will first assume them part of the Mirage (even if they are a pleasant deity). ===== Rituals and spirituality ===== One might assume the ryrhakenema to be important in //Ne͡imakanaas̈//, as preservers of the true form of the world. One would be wrong. Given the uselessness of verbal communication in breaking the veil, ryrhakenema are not any more qualified than the average mortal in piercing the veil. At most, they can be (and often are) considered guides toward earning an audience with Tamas̈elu, or givers of abstract hints toward how one might pierce the veil. They cannot say what lies beyond the veil and would discredit themselves if they tried to make any claims about it. ===== Competing faiths ===== While //Ne͡imakanaas̈// is uncontested on Vatenas, it is also spread throughout 'western' and 'northern' Asheenagiji, where it shares territorial overlap with the following faiths: * Hostile Ground / //Akynkulla// * Tarnish / //Nitish Ynas// * Death of Gods / //Leksharia//
